Restorative Schools, Restorative Communities
Having worked in educational settings for the past 22 years, Janet has spent the last 11 of those involved in restorative practice. Initially, she was appointed as one of the first school coordinators in the Restorative Justice in Schools Project in an inner city secondary school, funded by the Youth Justice Board.Janet then took up the opportunity to project manage the later, award winning, Restorative Approaches in Schools Project in the Bristol Schools.This project worked across nine Bristol secondary schools, training over 1200 staff and pupils in restorative practice.Janet has been involved in the production of two restorative justice DVDs, Laters'and Schools and Crime, as well as the production of the RAiS Guide, (2009) which was later launched by HRH Princess Anne.Janet is a successful speaker, trainer, facilitator and now Assessor of the Restorative Practice Diploma, and has continued to train and practice across a number of settings, and firmly believes there is a fundamental place for restorative practice in schools.
